Glasgow Botanic Gardens

When Daniel and I went to visit our friend Amel in Glasgow over New Year’s Eve one of my favourite spots was the Glasgow Botanic Gardens. Located in a wet park the two grand greenhouses created some steaming summer sanctuaries in the cold Scottish winter. So here is a lot of plant porn for us:

It was just like the tropics trapped in a house.

The condensation on the windows made the plants look like paintings.

The greenhouse buildings themselves are stunning, and with the dewy windows I’m sure it would be private enough to live in. Like the Swedish family who wrapped their house in one.

Inside it was humid and hot, just like my darling Kenya. I have to make sure to visit my family there soon.

Despite my back pearling up with sweat after five minutes I couldn’t imagine why we would live in a country that hasn’t got summer for most of the year.

It could be because I was wearing my Jon Snow fur. This is me and Amel, who has the best Scottish accent in the world. <3

We strolled among the vines and leaves and prickled cacti, pretending to be in the month of July.

All around in the lush of the garden there were troublesome marble statues. Like the man and the monkey above, and the depressed boy on my instagram.

When we got back out, this was instead our reality. Haha which wasn’t too bad actually, because in every corner there is a cosy pub serving sausage rolls and scotch.

Back from Glasgow

Hi lovelies! I’m back on London soil. My muscles are aching from dancing on new years eve and from constant shivering on damp, windy streets. Glasgow was stunning and rough and friendly. We visited the cosiest of pubs, saw a girl stabbed in the head with a stilletto heel (but was absolutely fine) and walked the stormy fields of winter Scotland.

It feels heavy not being on holiday no longer, because out of all things in this world I thing that’s what I do best. However I’m still happy it’s 2016 and still convinced that this year will turn things into the better. The £2 ready made micro paste tried to convince me otherwise during lunch but I will not have it.

And since I stated ‘always play your guilty pleasures, especially in taxis and with people you don’t know’ I will start by sharing my best number one delicious guilty pleasure right now:

Selena Gomez – Hands To Myself

God I love a glossy grown up Disney Channel celeb! Hope you do to. And if you have a tune you adore (and find slightly embarrassing) please share it, you know that makes my heart tick.
