The other week Daniel and my two friends Paul and Bex were here from London. Stockholm was transformed into autumn colours and I took them to one of my favourite lunch spots Katarina Ölkafe for some grilled cheese sandwiches, ales and mac’n’cheese. It went down pretty well with the brits I’d say. Then we walked around Södermalm, checking out the little boutiques, cute cafes and old buildings. <3 Having friends visit your home town forces you to rethink and relive it completely to show it from its best side. I think I definitely needed that and taking the boat out to Djurgården where all leaves shifted in red I realised that I’ve grown to love Stockholm again. And believe it or not, I think I’ll miss living here. After having meatballs for dinner where the four of us were panting from culinary pleasure I brought them to Moderna Museet. Through this press viewing, I had managed to get all of us tickets to the grand opening of Olafur Eliasson that night. They were just as mind blown as I am, and to be honest going there a second time was just as impressive.Back in the flat they had rented for the weekend we listen to music on the stereo and mixed whiskey with apple juice which might be my new favourite thing. Bex and Paul got to try cheez doodles which along with Swedish meatballs and cinnamon buns I’d say is a definite must try when in Sweden. They adored them.We went out to Trädgården with a few friends of mine before Daniel and I went over here.
The rest of the weekend I didn’t document but I’m thinking about writing a Stockholm city guide if you would like me to? Let me know!
