SUNDAY IN LONDON FIELDS PARK

I’ve still got a lot of posts left from my two weeks in London visiting my boyfriend. Here comes the Sunday after this barbecue night: Daniel-at-home,-Clapton Sunday didn’t at all feel anything like a sunday. It felt like one of those summer holiday vacuums where one knows of nothing but hot roads and open windows. Daniel texted our friends who were all busy frying eggs to make plans to meet up in the park. Jimmy-at-Raw-Duck-London At 1pm we picked Jimmy up on Mare Street and swung by Raw Duck to get this years first iced coffee. The staff looked stunned by my request, as if I had uttered Voldemorts name and would call upon evil and John Snow to turn up saying ”Winter is coming”. But a lot of money later I had my cool caffeinated liquid and skipping in front of a whole trail of Hare Krishnas we could enter London Fields. Daniel,-London-Fields The cherry trees sprinkled its blossoms all over the dirty youths that occupied the park. Seb-and-Elsie,-London-FieldsElsie-and-Seb,-London-Fields My friends, among others, dressed for summer in black hoodies and hangovers. Olivia,-London-Fields Twelve of us, mostly Canadians, lay on blankets in the grass, munching on coconut coated peanuts and sweets that some promoter threw at us in exchange of a fake promise to attend some lame gig. The sun wandered along my tights and up my skirt, all around my neck and sizzled my skin where it lay bare. With ever ten minutes of sun came a strong whiff of winter and as one should in spring times I kept on taking my denim jacket on and off and on again. Jared-and-Olivia,-London-Fields The speakers played smooth summer music that lets the mind wander. All around my friends are discussing the leaking of four Game of Thrones episodes, why never to live with boys and who they could marry when their visas run out. I’ve already volunteered for my girlfriends, as long as I get to wear a naughty dress and walk down the isle in Hackney Town Hall. Imagine the cute wedding photos! And the reception! I lie laughing with my eyes closed as the plans grow huge. Anthony,-Seb-and-Elsie,-London-FieldsDaniel-and-Anthony,-London-Fields Hours pass unnoticed. The only way to measure time is on the burn on our cheeks. By 5pm it’s noticeably bad so we collect our stuff and look up somewhere the twelve of us can find dinner. London-Fields-Arches I don’t know why we even bother pretending to look for a different place because we always end up going for Vietnamese. This time is no different and we end up in an empty room decorated with bamboo sticks and fake flowers where the staff would’ve preferred not to serve people at all. The bowls of pho and glass noodles arrive and we are loud and rowdy and our cheeks scolding red. In the window we see a huge rat run past and Daniel once again brings up the phenomena with the King Rat with its entangled tails. The way his eyes lights up when he describes really vile subjects is intimidating but also kind of hot haha. The wind has taken its toll and I feel absolutely beat. After coffees at some bar we say bye to our friends and walk in dusk back to Clapton, my legs prickling up in the breeze. Prespring evenings are pretty lovely after all. Because then it’s still cold enough to lay under the duvet.   Linn

TUESDAY TRACK // AVA LUNA RAIN – RAIN

Mamma-och-JagMy mum and I at some even when I brought her as my +1 to some event It’s Tuesday and time for a new track, but it’s also the day when my lovely mum is turning 50! Happy birthday mamma, I love you! We’re out celebrating her being an absolute goddess, despite and because of her struggles. She’s like a hurricane, unstoppable and wild, but with a heart calm and strong. Nobody laughs as much as my mum but I definitely know where I got my cry baby gene from too. She loves pink blossom more than I so we’ll stroll down the cherry lane in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm before drinking prosecco and eating out with the rest of my family. Here’s some dreamy spring pop from Ava Luna to go with this spring:   Linn

WHITE DENIM & HOUSING HORROR

Blogpost-All-White-OutfitBlog-by-Linn-WibergLinn-wearing-all-white Helped my parents repaint their house yesterday with my sisters. It was sunny and we played music through the windows like a groovy 80s movie. LAME, but fun. Despite spring barely having arrived yet summer was everywhere and I got to premier my all white outfit with my white Levi’s cutoffs. Funny enough I also got featured with a piece in Dazed Magazine because another living situation. It’s a piece about one of my horrendous flats in Shoreditch back in 2013 that left me scarred for life. You can read it here → Housing Horror Stories.   Linn

BABE OF THE MONTH / DEAR PRAVDA

Babe of the Month is a monthly blog series created by me to promote inspiring women online.

BABE-OF-THE-MONTH

I can’t recall when I actually stumbled upon Dear Pravda, the well curated space created by artist Rebecca Larsson, but the fascination was instant. It’s a mixture of her art projects and creative frustration, stunning videos of her fellow artist friends shaving their heads or replanting flowers, photos from life at art school and her thoughts captured in fragments. No post or art piece is really like the other and still they manage to coherently reflect the mind of this enchanting chick. I figured that it was about time that I get to know more about this wondrous person.

Hello Rebecca, how has you day been?

Hi Linn! It’s been a busy day packing since I’m travelling to Lithuania tomorrow with my art class! I also had to finish illustrating the album cover for Death Team’s new single, so there’s been no time for rest.

art

See, you always seem busy with new creative projects. I want to know more! Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

I’m 22 years old and I study Art at Munka Folkhögskola outside Ängelholm. I’ve been here for almost a year now and I think I will do another! Mostly I do oil painting and sketching but I also take photographs. I’m a vegan and love green plants so much. My room in school is like a jungle and I treat them even better then I treat real people sometimes, ha!

klar1001_1_54298e352a6b22782cc27a45

That’s amazing. Why do you think you got into art?

I don’t really know why. I have just been into art for as long as I can remember. When I was younger I went to Kulturskolan until I was 18 and got kicked out (in a nice way) basically because I was too old to continue. I chose art as my main subject in highschool after which I studied Art History at university for a year. I did go travelling for a while but now, here I am, studying art again! It’s just my natural habitat I guess.

Which of your projects are you most proud of?

Hm, it’s hard to choose but my most important is Letters From Friends. The letters are from close friends of mine and the stories are real, which is heartbreaking and fantastic at the same time.

What do you do to find inspiration for your creative projects?

Well, I wish I had that answer for you. Sometimes I just get so empty I can’t do anything and then I start scrolling down my favorite photographer Lukasz Wiersbowski’s tumblr. I always find something inspiring over there. I kind of handle it different each time. Like the last time I felt empty I made an embroidery which said “It’s okay to be useless or just not great at everything or better at something or just fine but feels empty sometimes”.

How did your blog dearpravda.blogg.se come about and what has it grown to be?

Dear Pravda is pretty new. I think I started it about a year ago when I arrived back to Sweden from a 8 month long journey through Australia and South East Asia. I broke up with my boyfriend at the time and I thought I needed a new place for myself and everything I did. At first it was just a place for my art and my pictures, it still is, but I think it’s a bit bigger now. It’s a place where I can dump my stuff and connect with other inspiring people over the internet (like you!).

tatuering

Haha thank you! Glad we can have that exchange. What gems on your blog should new readers not miss?

Well, since I’m going to Lithuania there’s going to be a lot of photos from my trip! You don’t want to miss out on Vilnius I can tell you! Maybe I’ll post some photos from my phone while I’m there, or else I’ll be back next Saturday.

You are obviously a girl crush for me! So I’d like to know who’s yours?

There are so many girls I look up to! Almost only girls actually. Like all the fantastic Swedish cartoonist like Esters Rester and Bim Eriksson. I really love the artist Alexandra Levasseur, she is such a great painter and animator. There are so many swedish bloggers too, like Frida Vega.

konst

So many cool chicks out there! Ok, let’s talk about guilty pleasures. What’s yours?

I have actually been thinking about that for a while since the topic was brought up in my class, but I can’t come up with one. Maybe that I like watching Real Housewives of Beverly Hills or something, haha! But I think everybody likes that because it’s funny and stupid but you can’t stop because it always ends with a cliffhanger!

Guess I’ll have to start watching that this year then. What can we expect from you in 2015? And in the future?

Well, I’m moving to Malmö during the summer and then back to school for my second year in August! There’s going to be such a great summer I think. Much better than the last one as a heartbroken, always-crying-person. I hope to do more collaborations with inspiring people this summer and don’t be afraid to ask if you’re interested too!

DISPOSABLE CAMERA LONDON 2014/2015

Here is the second part of what came out from my disposable camera that I’ve had tumbling around in my bag since last autumn. These are all from my trips back to my favourite city and second home – London. You can see the Stockholm part here. Let’s start! F1000041 My Canadian babes Daniel and Danielle a wet Hackney night in November when it was still mild enough to sit at the Netil House terrace. F1000021 At my surprise birthday party in Daniel’s flat a whole bunch of friends were hiding as I entered oblivious. F1000020 Wilma brought vodka in a milk jug, we danced to pc pop and I described it as I wish I could push dawn until next year. I also love that it looks like Kajsa is looking fab in a fedora when it’s actually just a mirror behind her. F1000044 A morning with take away coffees in Daniel’s bright hallway that looks like a crack den in this photo. F1000043Another night in Hackney when Kajsa refused to accept that Halloween was over and convinced everybody to dress up. What we do for the people we love… F1000035 A sweaty leather wrapped me, pop princess Rakel from the band Dream Wife and the glam babe Kajsa. F1000037 Everybody danced until the make up melted into puddles and Daniel dropped my friend on her head, thinking he’s stronger than he actually is. It was all pretty embarrassing I’m sure, and when we were sober enough to realise we quickly hurried home. F1000024 The night me and Frida were sipping whiskey to hiphop at Satan’s Whiskers. F1000034 Here we were in some back alley in Hackney and a guy walked by and I asked him to take a photo whereupon he looked horrified and slightly disgusted. Kind of realised why looking at this. F1000007 At Daria and Ada’s birthday party in a art gallery in Hackney Wick. That night the dj tried to steal my fur coat, people dropped the speakers down the stairs, vegetarians ate bacon crisps and a girl said that if it’s lucky that your bf has a twin brother I can sleep with because this is the most handsome man I’ve seen(?). Other posts with my photos from my disposable cameras: Stockholm 2014/2015 London Summer 2014 Field Day Festival 2014 Field Day Festival 2013   Linn Has anybody got any tips on cheap, analogue point and shoot cameras I could get instead of wasting money on throw away stuff?
