Waking up in Daniel’s bed in Clapton was surreal. Our phones kept lightning up from friends sending texts about meeting up but for a few hours it was just us not getting dressed, talking about all things insignificant. I miss all those normal and unspecial minutes of doing nothing with him. Around midday he took me to a brunch place called Candela. It’s ridiculous the amount of new spots opening all the time in London. Wet hair rocking my new favourite blouse Zasha from Weekday. Candela is a Latin/Iberian restaurant and we tried their Full Breakfast and wow. Fried eggs, plantain, grilled tomatoes, the best chorizo I’ve ever tasted, guacamole, sourdough bread and black bean paste. I died. I miss going out for brunch every weekend. Can’t believe I’ve had a salary of nothing for 4 years and still was able to eat brunch out in London almost every single weekend. It’s the best, and makes sense as it’s rarely over £10 including coffee. We swung by home to pick up some stuff and then we took a double decker down to Shoreditch. To meet up with some fine people wearing fine footwear. Jared, Anthony, Danielle and their two Icelandic friends took us to the restaurant at the Ace Hotel called Hoi Polloi. There we had Bloody Mary’s whilst listening to the pastel sweatshirt wearing orchestra playing Taylor Swift and Shakira on their violins. That whole Wes Anderson surrealism is absolutely a trend. Feeling less hungover we swung by some vinyl shops and said hi to some friends working in the area. <3 Danielle, me and Daniel headed back up to Clapton to check out Danielle’s new place. We discussed her love life as there is always a lovely drama around that woman, and the fact that she might land a damn well-paid position after her interview that day! She did wear her Prada there so it should be fine. Back out on the prettiest street I London which is right here in ugly Clapton. We were about to check out Chatsworth Road Festival. Turned out it was mostly yuppies with toddlers or high people dancing to the djs on the streets. I did see 13(!) English Bulldogs though so it was all worth it. We sat down for coffee and apparently this is how they serve ice cream there. Further down we met another of all my girl crushes in my life, Ornella. <3 She was beyond ecstatic as she was 2min away from seeing her bf who had just got back home after 2 weeks in the states. ”I can’t deal with this long distance thing, it’s awful.” TWO WEEKS ORNELLA TRY A YEAR! But it will always suck no matter the time. Since it was past 5pm and Saboune had joined it was now officially party time so with a few cans we claimed a part of Chatsworth Road. Lovely Stenberg joined us too, making time in his busy tech startup life filled with code and design and hiking. <3 He told us all about his new company Dice and how he climbed Kebnekaise a month ago! A few hours later it was time for us to head for our dinner reservation to have pasta at the tiniest Italian. After predrinking we spent the rest of the night at a weird electronic party in the basement of a kebab shop. It didn’t even get cold a single time and so far I hadn’t used up any of my sweaters I brought. We danced and bought cheap gin until I couldn’t stay away from Daniel any longer and suggested we go back to his.
